- The Portuguese has replaced Mauricio Pochettino as Tottenham manager
- Spurs are currently 14th in the Premier League, 11 points off fourth place
It’ll act as an added incentive, beyond the £15million-a-year salary he’ll be pocketing after becoming the new Spurs manager following Mauricio Pochettino’s departure.
However, Champions League qualification will be a tough ask with Tottenham languishing in 14th place, without a win in five games, and currently sitting 11 points behind their target.

Spurs have only managed three wins so far this season from 12 games, and eventually the pressure on Pochettino became too great.
Mourinho was appointed to the role less than 24 hours after they sacked Pochettino, and will be earning double his salary.
The Portuguese attended his first press conference and took his first training session on Thursday.
‘The Special One’ has rebranded himself as ‘humble,’ and has claimed that he won’t need any new signings for the team to improve this season.

However, he could be eyeing a reunion with Zlatan Ibrahimovic in January, as the Swedish striker will be available on a free transfer.
They may also be making a move for Manchester United target, Sporting Lisbon’s Bruno Fernandes.
In addition, Mourinho stated that the adventurous style of play overseen by his predecessor will continue, but also says he will be giving youth players a chance to shine.
