It is Jade Motee, Miss Grand Baie, who will take over the crown of Miss Universe Mauritius in case Ornella Laflèche would not be able to participate in the international competition. The 25-year-old woman who holds an undergraduate degree in Tourism works as Customer Service Manager in a local firm. The 1st runner-up shares that she is not only very proud of her participation in this competition but also believes that she has come a long way.
“It’s a first for me and I did not expect at all to be elected as first runner-up. I feel overwhelmed. I decided to participate in the competition just to give it a try but I must say that it was an enriching experience. I have learned so much,” utters Jade. A fashion lover, she, however, confides that doing the catwalk was not her forte. “We had to prepare for the stage choreography within three days. It was a big challenge for me. I started from zero experience to now having won the first runner-up place. I cannot be happier of this achievement.”
Jade shares that the Miss Universe Mauritius contest has helped her to get out of her comfort zone and discover a different aspect of her personality. She aims to help the committee of the Miss Universe Mauritius to empower future contestants, such as advising and leading them.
