- Arsenal are reported to be tracking Borussia Dortmund ace Dan-Axel Zagadou
- The towering defender has impressed for club and country in this campaign
- Gunners boss Unai Emery is determined to add to his defence for next season
According to the Mirror, the 20-year-old Frenchman has impressed scouts at Arsenal and the Gunners are ready to step up their interest following Zagadou’s performances at the Under-20 World Cup in Poland.
Manager Unai Emery retains an interest in Saint-Etienne teenager William Saliba but also see the upcoming Zagadou as an alternative target.

Zagadou has worn the captain’s armband for France at the tournament in Poland and has played a key role in securing two clean sheets before they were eliminated by the United States.
Dortmund will be reluctant to let the talented youngster go and will be under no pressure to sell.
He still has three years left on his deal at Signul Iduna Park.

Zagadou, who has made 35 appearances in Dortmund’s first team, could find himself available, however, following the return of former captain Mats Hummels from Bayern Munich.
It was reported over the weekend that Hummels turned down a lucrative contract offer from Manchester United to make an emotional return to Dortmund – and he will expect to go in as a starter in Lucien Favre’s side.
Emery has lacked a dominating centre back with both Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi struggling at key moments of the season.
Missing out on the Champions League could prove costly but Arsenal will try to convince Zagadou that he can establish himself as a Premier League start at the Emirates Stadium.
Mats Hummels’ return to Borussia Dortmund could see Zagadou made available this summer
