‘I hope to be back to work in July in a project I really like’: Jose Mourinho vows to return to management this summer… as he claims it is ‘difficult for me to talk about Manchester United’

- He was also unable to resist another swipe at former club Manchester United
- Mourinho admits he has less enthusiasm for United than his other past clubs
Mourinho has not worked since being sacked by United in December, although he was offered the Real Madrid job earlier this season.
However he says he was happy to take a rest after leaving Old Trafford, and know wants to return to management with a ‘project’ he is excited about.

Mourinho told French radio station RMC: ‘I have a lot of qualities and one of them is to respect other clubs and their management. I have never spoken like “this club wanted me, they contacted me.”
‘When I left Manchester United in December, I immediately took the decision I want to work from summer. I hope to be back to work in July in a project I really like.’
Mourinho left United amid rows with several players including Paul Pogba, and he says the manner of his departure has left him with less enthusiasm for the club than his other previous employers.

United, despite an upturn in form under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after Mourinho left, struggled to sixth in the Premier League and missed out on the Champions League.
He said: ‘It’s difficult for me to talk about Manchester. I can’t talk about them in the same joy and freedom as I talk about other clubs.’
Mourinho has most recently been linked with Juventus, after it was announced on Friday that Max Allegri will be leaving the club.
