The film is directed by Raghava Lawrence, who directed the original Muni 2: Kanchana, which went on to become a blockbuster. Kiara had earlier shared a picture from the sets of the film with the caption, “First Day of #LAAXMIBOMB @akshaykumar @RowdyGabbar #raghavalawrence @TusshKapoor and the journey has just begun.” She was seen holding the clapperboard for a shot.
According to a report in Mid-Day, a source told the news daily, “While Akshay plays the protagonist who gets possessed by the spirit of a transgender, Kiara will portray the superstar’s girlfriend in the movie. Although the female lead did not have a significant role in the original version, Kiara will enjoy a substantial part in the adaptation. The script too has been tweaked to suit the sensibilities of the Hindi film audience.”
Kiara and Akshay will also be seen together in Good News. The film is about a couple trying to have a baby. While Akshay stars opposite Kareena Kapoor in the film, Kiara pairs up with Diljit Dosanjh.
