Crystal Palace fans have a reason to be optimistic on Wednesday night, as it has been revealed they will wear their lucky red and blue home kit in Tottenham’s long-awaited stadium opener.
Spurs are big favourites to begin their tenure at the new £1billion stadium with three points – but Palace will have other ideas as they attempt to spoil the party.
The Premier League clash will have the world watching after a huge build-up and plenty of delays, with the home fans desperate to see their side get off to the perfect start.

The Eagles have won every away match this season when donning their red and blue colours
Palace, though, will be confident of causing an upset – something that has been helped with the news of their kit choice for the match.
The Eagles have worn their red and blue strip just three times on the road this season, and incredibly they have won every single time.
Due to Spurs’ white home kit, Palace will once again be unable to don their own white away strip, meaning they will turn to their trusty red and blue colours.
They first wore it away from Selhurst Park on the opening day of the season, cruising to a 2-0 victory at now-relegated Fulham, before reverting to their normal away kit for the matches that followed.

Regardless of the odds, goals from Jeffrey Schlupp, Andros Townsend and Luka Milivojevic secured an incredible 3-2 victory – City’s only home league defeat of the season so far.
Just a week later, Palace headed north again to Molineux, bringing out the red and blue kit to put Wolves to the sword in another 2-0 win – a mightily-impressive result.
Since then, the kit has been reserved solely for home games but it will be back on Wednesday night and the travelling fans will be desperate to see the red and blue spur them on to victory once more.
